Once installed, the agent is configured and is therefore able to manage the data on the client computer. However, you can change certain aspects of the configuration (e.g., client computer, backup sets, etc.) to manage the data in the manner that best suits your needs. Depending on the agent, you can view or change the agent configuration from the available tabs of the agent Properties dialog box.
You can enable or disable all operations for this CommCell object and all objects below it. For more information, see Activity Control.
A filter storage policy must be assigned to the agent in order to conduct Erase Data by Browsing operations for File System, Exchange Mailbox, Exchange Public/Web Folder, and SharePoint Server iDataAgents, as well as Exchange Mailbox/Public Folder Archiver and SharePoint Archiver Agents. The purpose of the filter storage policy is to tell the system which media will be used to store the index filter information and how long to retain it. If one is not assigned at the time an Erase Data by Browsing job is run, the system will display a message reminding you that no filter storage policy has been defined. The General tab allows you to change the SharePoint account that is associated with SharePoint Archiver. This account was entered during installation of this Agent.
The Base Services of the client will run under the user account that is specified. Use an account that meets this criteria:

The Version tab displays the software version and post-release service packs and updates installed for the component. See Version for an overview.
Optionally, configure stub rules to manage the pruning of stubs. Stub creation rules are supported by all Migration Archiver Agents. If stub rules are not enabled, performing a stub recovery will not be possible.
These rules determine how long the stubs are retained and they assume that placeholder stubs are created when documents are archived. They apply to all subclients configured for this Agent.
When this rule is enabled, stubs will not be pruned until the media is aged during a data aging operation. Recovery of data is not possible when this rule is enabled.
When this rule is enabled, stubs will be retained for the specified number of days before it is pruned. This rule can be specified with different values for each subclient, but the rule for the subclient that has the lowest value will be the rule that is followed by all subclients.
