During a content indexing operation, there are chances that few files do not get content indexed due to various reasons. You can view the list of skipped files, along with the reason for skipping, in a system generated .xml file under the following location in the Admin node:

<Software installation path>\iDataAgent\JobResults\CV_JobResults\iDataAgent\ContentIndexing\<JobID>\

Unable to Restart the Content Indexing Services Properly in a Multi-Node Installation

When you restart the Content Indexing Engine in the admin node, make sure that you restart the Content Indexing Services on all the nodes as follows:

• Stop the Content Indexing Services on all the nodes in the following order:
  • First stop the Services on all the Storage/Index nodes.
  • Then stop the Services on the Admin node.

  To stop the services, logon to the individual node and from the Start menu click All Programs, Content Indexing Engine 4.0., and then click Content Indexing Engine - Stop.

• Start the Content Indexing Services on all the nodes in the following order:
  • First, start the Services on the Admin node.
  • Wait for 3 minutes and then start the Services on one Storage/Index node.
  • Similarly, wait for 3 minutes and then start the Services on the next Storage/Index node. Repeat this process to start the Services on all the Storage/Index nodes. The order in which you start the Services in the Storage/Index nodes is not important.

  To start the services, logon to the individual node and from the Start menu click All Programs, Content Indexing Engine 4.0., and then click Content Indexing Engine - Start.
