A client computer group is a logical grouping of client computers that serves as a single CommCell entity in which selected options can apply to all member clients. Hence, the need to configure options for individual clients is eliminated once those clients are members of the group. A client computer group can be created once clients with installed agent software are available in the CommCell Browser.
Once created, client computer groups can be used to perform the following tasks:
A task configured for a client computer group will affect all the clients within the client computer group (e.g., the View Job History task will display the details for all of the clients within the client computer group).
A client computer can be a member of multiple client computer groups. |
Once a client computer group is created, you can configure the following aspects of a client computer group configuration:
You can enable or disable all operations for this CommCell object and all objects below it. For more information, see Activity Control.
You can associate or disassociate clients to or from a client computer group.
You can change the name of a client computer group.
