Cloning allows you to create an exact duplicate of an existing policy that retains all of the properties of the original policy. Once created, you can edit the properties of the policy, as necessary. This saves you the time of creating a new policy manually.

The cloning feature is available as a right-click option from a policy under the Policies level of the CommCell Browser. Once created, the cloned policy is available for editing, if any of the options need to be changed to best suit your needs.
Consider the following when cloning policies:
When a Storage Policy is cloned, the deduplication properties of the cloned Storage Policy will be disabled and cannot be enabled. Hence it is recommended that you do not clone storage policies if you wish to enable deduplication.
When cloning a Schedule Policy that has a configured alert, the new schedule policy will not have the configured alert. You must configure the alert manually.
