To
clone a schedule policy:
- From the CommCell Browser, select the Schedule Policies node, right-click
the schedule policy, click All Tasks and then click Clone.
- Type the name for the new schedule policy in the Enter name box of
the Clone Schedule Policy dialog box. Click OK. The new
schedule policy is displayed in the right pane of the Schedule Policies
level of the CommCell Browser.
NOTES
The newly created schedule policy that was cloned from another schedule
policy is disabled by default. It is recommended that you make the necessary
changes to the schedule policy before enabling the policy. To edit and
enable the schedule policy:
- Right-click the schedule policy and then click Properties. From the
Schedule Policy Details dialog box, change any of the options, if
necessary. Click OK.
- Right-click the schedule policy, click All Tasks, and then click Enable. The
schedule policy is now enabled and ready for use.

To clone
a storage policy:
- From the CommCell Browser, right-click the storage policy for which you
wish to create an identical copy, and then click All Tasks -> Clone.
- From the Clone Storage Policy dialog box, type the name of the storage
policy in the Enter name box. Click OK.
- The cloned storage policy is displayed in the CommCell Browser.

The newly created storage policy that was cloned from another storage policy
does not retain the associated subclients of the original storage policy. To re-associate
the subclients of a storage policy:
- From the CommCell Browser, right-click the subclient(s), and then click
Properties.
- From the Data Storage Policy tab of the Storage Device tab,
select the storage policy from the drop-down list box. Click OK.
- The subclient is associated with the storage policy.

To clone
a Subclient Policy:
- From the CommCell Browser, right-click the subclient policy for which you
wish to create an identical copy, and then click All Tasks -> Clone.
- From the Clone Subclient Policy dialog box, type the name of the
Subclient Policy in the Enter name box. Click OK.
- The cloned Subclient Policy is displayed in the CommCell Browser.
The newly created Subclient Policy that was cloned from another Subclient Policy
is not associated with any backup sets. To associate a Subclient Policy with a backup
set:
- Ensure that there are no user-defined subclients in the backup sets that
you will be associating with the cloned Subclient Policy.
- Right-click the cloned Subclient Policy, and then click Properties.
- From the Properties for Subclient Policy dialog box, click the
Association tab.
- Select the backup set to which you want to associate with this Subclient
Policy. Note that you cannot associate a backup set that is already associated
with another Subclient Policy. Click OK.
- The Subclient Policy is ready for use.

To clone a tracking
policy:
- From the CommCell Browser, click the VaultTracker Policies icon under
the Policies node.
All the available Tracking Policies are displayed in the right pane of the
CommCell Browser.
- Right-click the policy that you wish to clone and then click Clone.
- Type the name of the new policy in the Enter Name box of the Clone
VaultTracker Policy dialog box. Click OK. The cloned Tracking Policy
is displayed in the VaultTracker Policies level of the CommCell Browser.
- Right-click the Tracking policy, and then click Properties. The
Tracking Policy Details dialog box is displayed.
- From the General tab, click the Enable check box. Click
OK. The Tracking policy is now enabled and ready for use.

- You must enable a cloned Tracking policy after it is created.
- It is recommended that some of the options of the cloned Tracking policy
is changed to avoid an exact duplication of the policy.
