Restore Data from the Offline Directory Database
Before You Begin

To
browse and restore data from an offline directory database:
For Active Directory Server databases, the dump file will be the ntds.dit file.
For ADAM and Lightweight Server databases, the dump file will be the adamntds.dit file.
Once all the desired browse options are selected, click OK.
When you have located the point-in-time from which you want to restore the object(s) or attribute(s), you can then continue with the Restore Data from the Offline Directory Database procedure.

During installation of the Active Directory iDataAgent, the LDS role is automatically turned on. This role should not be turned off. |

Individually selected attributes across multiple objects cannot be restored simultaneously. To restore attributes from more than one object, you must restore each object in its entirety. You can, however, restore individually selected child objects across multiple parent objects. |

The user account entered must be the domain controller administrator account.
Additionally, the user name must be entered in the following format: <domain_name>\<domain_controller_administrator_user_name> |
While the job is running, you can right-click the job in the Job Controller and select Detail to view information on the job. After the data has been restored, you will see a job completion message in the Job Controller and Event Viewer.
