Stub Recalls Fail after Upgrading to Windows Server 2008

Cause:

Stub file recalls will fail because the Drives key no longer exists in the registry. This key is needed for monitoring drives that contain stub files. This happens because you uninstalled the Agent software before upgrading the operating system. The key is not automatically created when you re-install the software.

Solution:

Do one of the following:

• Create the Drives key and populate it with the drive letters.
• Run a migration job for the existing subclients. When the migration runs, it will automatically populate the Drives key even if there are no files to migrate.
