Run a Media Refresh Operation

Required Capability: See Capabilities and Permitted Actions

To refresh media:

1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the storage policy that comprises the storage policy copy for which you want to refresh the media, click All Tasks, and then click New Copy.
2. From the General tab on the Copy Properties dialog box, select the Defer Auxiliary Copy for n day(s) option, and select the number of days to defer the Auxiliary Copy.

   NOTES

   It is not necessary to complete this task if you are changing the media type.

3. From the Copy Policy tab on the Copy Properties dialog box, select the source, which must be the original secondary storage policy copy, in the Specify Source for Auxiliary Copy list box.

   NOTES

   It is not necessary to complete this task if you are consolidating the media.

4. Complete configuring the New Copy as you would any other secondary storage policy copy.
5. Click OK to save your changes.
