The Data Retention Forecast and Compliance Report provides a history of data protection jobs, associated media, data aging forecast and recyclable media based on the selected filter criteria. Note that regardless of the filter options selected for this report, the report always checks retention in days.
This report is useful if you require:
A list of data protection jobs that are on each media or magnetic volume.
A list of data protection jobs that either exceed their retention criteria or need to be retained.
A list of media that can be recycled and a list of media that can not be recycled based on the copy retention.
The amount of magnetic space that will be freed and kept for each storage policy copy.
An estimated date on which a job is due to be aged.
Reasons as to why data was not aged. Users can click the error codes displayed in the Reason for Not Aging field to troubleshoot issues. For more information, see Data Aging - Troubleshoot.
NOTE
The error codes displayed in the Reason for Not Aging field will link to the documentation only if Books Online is installed on the CommServe computer or the computer hosting the IIS server (if the IIS Server is different from the CommServe computer) in the CommCell. If Books Online is not installed in this manner, clicking the error codes in the report will prompt an error message indicating that the page cannot be found. For more information, see About Books Online.

The Full Cycle/Sequence Number indicates the actual cycle numbers for a given subclient, i.e., from among all the jobs that ran for the subclient, these are the jobs from 10th and 11th cycle of that subclient. The Job Cycle number (outside the parenthesis) is the logical cycle number, i.e., out of the total cycles that ran so far for a given subclient, only 2 cycles are available and the rest all are pruned by retention rules. In this case, the 2 cycles will be numbered from 1 to 2 by which one can immediately identify the jobs that will be retained by the cycles retention based on number of cycles to be retained.
