Usage
If the Backup and
Detailed options are selected from the Job
Summary Report Selection dialog box, the Backup
Job Summary Report will be created.
By default, failed files and failed folders are displayed in the reports in
red. If you want to change the colors of these values, you can set the
failedFilesSameColor and failedFoldersSameColor
registry keys, respectively. For more information on these registry keys, see
Registry Keys.
This report is useful if you require:
- A summary of backup jobs for each client.
- Backup jobs performed during a specified time period.
- Detailed backup information for each backup job such as:
- Subclient content, filters, protected objects, failed objects, and the file sizes of
the protected and
failed objects.
- Subclients that are not protected by data protection jobs.
- Jobs that include System State information.
- Failure reasons, job attempts, and associated events.
- Associated media.
- Drive, storage policy, and MediaAgent information.
- The options that were selected for the job before the job was run.
- The CommCell user that initiated the job.
- Unsuccessful jobs and data that has been aged.
- Content indexing usage and failures (if any).
- Transfer time, throughput, number of objects protected, and the number
of folders and files that failed to be protected.
- Instance name, backup script name(s), and status for Oracle On Demand
backup jobs.
- Size of backup or application size.
- To view all backup jobs that were user or scheduler initiated.
- A list of subclients that were not scheduled to be backed up.
- To view Legal Hold jobs, which requires
selecting Protected Objects in the
Report Selection (Selection)
dialog box.
- To display the percentage size change between the previous and last job of the same
type if Increase in Data size by or Decrease in Data size by on the
Options tab is
selected. A Data Protection alert can be configured to notify users when the
size of data being backed up has significantly changed in size since the
last similar type of backup. For more information, see Data Protection alert
in Alerts and Monitoring.
- To display jobs with either all, basic or extended rules. See
Data Aging for more
information.
- Data that employs
Content Indexing and
Search.
-
In the Selection tab, the list of Protected Objects (the objects that have been backed up) can
be sorted by size and name by setting
nFileListSortOrder,
nFileListTopN, or
nFileListNotLessThan registry keys.
