Filter Data from Restore Operations
Using the Advanced Restore Options window, you can specify the files, directories,
file name patterns, or NDS containers/objects that you want to filter from restore data.
Before You Begin
- Review the general and agent-specific restore requirements
accessed from
Restore Backup Data prior to
performing any restore operation.
Required Capability: See
Capabilities and Permitted Actions
To filter data from a restore
operation:
- Begin any restore procedure. See
Browse and Restore or
Basic Restore for more information.
- When you reach the Restore Options (General) dialog box, click Advanced.
- From the
Paths/Filters tab in the Advanced Restore Options
dialog box, type the files, directories, file name patterns, or NDS objects that you want to filter in the
Filter Paths pane. Use the Add button to specify
your filter entries. Each entry must be specified as a complete path and must be a
child of the Source Paths pane. Wildcard entries must be expressed as complete paths
(e.g. C:\Test\*.dll, or
/usr/lib/*.so).
- Continue your restore.
NOTES
- Proxyhost iDataAgent
- It is recommended that you do not filter out anything for TimeFinder. If you decide to use this feature for
TimeFinder proceed with extreme caution since it can
cause a critical error if used incorrectly. Contact Technical Support
before using this feature for TimeFinder.
- NetWare iDataAgent
- The Netware NDS iDataAgent does not
support the use of wildcard expressions.
