Restore a SharePoint Server Single Sign-on Database
Stand-alone or Single server with SQL Server Deployments
Before You Begin:
- Review the general and agent-specific restore requirements accessed from Restore
Backup Data
prior to performing any restore operation.

To
restore the Single Sign-on database / Stand-alone or Single server with SQL
Server Deployments:
- Stop the Microsoft Single Sign-on Service.
- If the SSO SQL database still exists, delete it.
- Start the Microsoft Single Sign-on Service.
- Begin a restore procedure using the SharePoint Server

step-by-step instructions.
- From the Browse Data window, select Single Sign-on Database.
- From the Restore Options dialog box, enter the required
information in the
Single
Sign-on Database tab.
- Continue with the restore procedure.
Server Farm (Small, Medium, Large)
Before You Begin:

prior to performing any restore operation.

To
restore the Single Sign-on database / Server Farm (Small, Medium, Large):
- Stop the Microsoft Single Sign-on Service on All Servers in the farm.
- Restore the Single Sign-On Database on the SQL Server using the SQL
iDataAgent to
Recover SQL Server
Databases.
- Start the Microsoft Single Sign-on Service on the Job Server.
- Begin a restore procedure using the SharePoint Server

- From the Browse Data window, select Single Sign-on Database.
- From the Restore Options dialog box, enter the required
information in the
Single
Sign-on Database tab.
- Continue with the restore procedure.
- Restart the Microsoft Single Sign-on Service on the Job Server.
- Start the Microsoft Single Sign-on Service on all other Servers in the
Farm.
