Apply Transaction Logs to an SQL Database on a Recovered QR Volume

Before You Begin:

• Review the information in Using Transaction/Archive Logs with Recovered QR Volumes.
• Review the general and agent-specific restore requirements accessed from Restore Backup Data prior to performing any restore operation.

• Ensure that you have installed the SQL Server 2000 iDataAgent and the Quick Recovery Agent on the same SQL Server.
• Ensure that you have a QR Volume and a transaction log backup of the SQL Server Database taken after QR Volume creation.
• Ensure that the database to be restored is in NORECOVER mode.

To apply transaction logs to a recovered QR Volume with SQL Server 2000 data:

1. Perform a QR Recovery to recover the SQL data from your QR Volumes. Refer to Recovering QR Volumes for procedures on performing a QR Recovery.
2. After recovering the SQL Server 2000 data from your QR Volumes, access the CommCell Console, and begin any SQL Server restore procedure.
3. In the SQL Restore (General) dialog box, select Step Restore as the Restore Type.
4. From the Restore Time list, select the desired log. The iDataAgent will apply the selected log and all logs that occurred prior to the selected log.
5. Select the desired Recovery Type.
6. When restoring encrypted data, refer to Data Encryption.
7. Continue your restore.
