Restore Data to a Point in Time

Before You Begin:

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the instance, click All Tasks, and click Restore Server.
  2. From the Restore Options (General) dialog box, select Point in Time and select a Restore Time and Time Zone.
  3. Continue your restore.

Recover Data and Keep the Database Offline

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the instance, click All Tasks, and click Restore Server.
  2. From the Restore Options (General) dialog box, click No Recover.
  3. Continue with your restore.

Recover Data and Bring the Database Online

Before You Begin:

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the instance, click All Tasks, and click Restore Server.
  2. From the Restore (Options) dialog box, click Recover.
  3. Continue with your restore.

Create New Devices

Before You Begin:

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the instance, click All Tasks, and click Restore Server.
  2. From the Restore Options (General) dialog box, click Create Devices if not exist.
  3. Click Advanced.
  4. From the Options tab in the Advanced Restore Options dialog box, do one or both of the following:
    • Click in the Device Name field and edit the field with the new name.
    • Click in the Physical Path field and edit the field with the new path.
  5. Repeat the previous step as needed.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Continue with your restore.

Perform a Step-by-Step Restore for Sybase

Before You Begin:

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the Sybase instance, click All Tasks, and click Browse Backup Data.
  2. In the Browse Options dialog box, select the desired options.
  3. If desired, click Advanced to select additional Browse options and then click OK.
  4. From the Browse Options dialog box, click OK.
  5. From the Latest Data dialog box, select a single database and click Recover All Selected.
  6. From the Sybase Restore dialog box, click Step-by-Step.
  7. In Restore Time and Timezone, select the appropriate restore time for the backup data to be restored.
  8. In Recover Types, click No Recover if you do not want the recovered database to be online.  If you want the database to be online, accept the Recover default option.
  9. If desired, click Advanced to select additional restore options.  Then click OK.
  10. Continue with your restore.
  11. Repeat this procedure until the restore is completed.
