Automatic Updates - Support

The following table lists the Agents and the various clients supported by each of these Agents for Automatic Updates. Additionally, this feature can be implemented in a cluster environment and on a computer with multiple instances.

  • Automatic updates is not necessary for Virtual computers in a clustered environment.
  • Multicache Configuration requires all associated computers to have the current software version installed. Clients with software released prior to the current version cannot be associated to an update cache.
  • If an Agent is configured on a virtual computer, the binaries for that Agent are not installed on the virtual computer, but rather they are installed on the physical computer. Therefore, the Agent would be updated when the physical computer is configured to be updated.
