Before You Begin

Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require a reinstall of the operating system. Microsoft does not guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. You must also understand how to restore the registry if a problem occurs.

To configure a X64 Computer for installing 32-bit binaries:

  1. Open Registry Editor and create the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node

  2. Create the following subkey:

    GalaxyInstallerFlags

  3. Create the following entry and assign 1 as the value:

    bAllow32BitInstallOn64Bit

  4. Close the Registry Editor.

You can now install the 32-bit binaries in the computer.

Install 32-bit Exchange Agents on a Windows x64 Platform

Before You Begin

To install 32-bit Exchange Agents on a Windows x64 platform:

  1. Install the first instance.

    This instance must contain the x64 agents, including the x64 Exchange Database iDataAgent (if applicable).

  2. Create the bAllowMultiInstances and bAllow32BitInstallOn64Bit registry keys on the Windows x64 platform.

The 32-bit MAPI-based Exchange Agent can now be used alongside the x64 Exchange Database iDataAgent.
