Media Management Configuration (Auxiliary Copy Configuration)

Use this dialog box to establish advanced media management parameters for Auxiliary Copy Configuration.

The properties in this dialog box are for advanced users. We strongly recommend that you understand the implication of these properties before modifying the default values.

The following configuration parameters values are displayed:

Interval (Hours) between Auxiliary Copy Fallen Behind alerts Specifies the interval at which the storage policy will be checked for the following criteria:
  • data to be copied is more than n GB
  • jobs have not been copied in more than n days

(n is set by the user in the Storage Policy Properties (Advanced) window.)

If the defined thresholds have been met, an alert, if configured, will be triggered. Default interval is set at 24 hours.

Interval (in minutes) to retry a failed stream Specifies the interval, in number of minutes, to retry a failed data stream for auxiliary copy, offline content indexing or data verification. the default is 15.
Log the time required to wait for scheduler to update the next scheduled backup time into database This parameter is for troubleshooting purpose only and was added using Service Pack 12.
Skip job on read errors during Auxiliary Copy Specifies whether the system will skip the chunks with read errors during an Auxiliary Copy operations.

A value of 0 indicates that the Auxiliary Copy job will fail  with the error " Auxiliary Copy job Failed to copy or verify chunk".

A value of 1 indicates that the Auxiliary Copy job will skip the chunk and continue the operation.

Skip unavailable media Specifies whether the auxiliary copy or offline content indexing job skips unavailable media or goes into a wait state. The value '1' represents skip unavailable media, and  the default value of '0' represents wait for designated media availability.
Source signature cache buffer size (in KB) Specifies the signature cache size on the source MediaAgent for auxiliary copy deduplication. The default is 4096.
Source signature cache DB size (in MB) Specifies the signature database size on the source MediaAgent for auxiliary copy deduplication. The default is 4096.
Time-out (in minutes) for aliveness check Specifies the time-out interval for Auxiliary Copy process aliveness check. The default is 5.
Wait for scheduler to update the next scheduled backup time before making an auxcopy job selection This parameter is for troubleshooting purpose only and was added using Service Pack 12.
