This report shows data protection jobs that were completed, and/or failed or killed, for all the subclients in a CommCell, during the selected time range, using the Daily Administration Activity Monitoring Window, which is based on the settings in the Cell Configuration (Data Protection Window). Note that this report does not show incomplete jobs. Note that in this report, data protection jobs also include Data Replication operations.
You should generate this report periodically to expose possible problem areas with the data protection activity for particular applications, such as resource contention, networking and connectivity issues, or hardware performance issues. Make the following comparisons to discover any trends that might indicate possible problems for further investigation:

If clients were migrated from another CommCell, their activity in their previous CommCell will not be displayed as part of the activity report for the CommCell to which they were migrated. Any activity that occurred after the CommCell migration will be included in the activity report for the CommCell to which they were migrated.
Data Size Type
Data size can be displayed in terms of application size or media size.
If selected, data will be presented in terms of application size, which indicates the amount of data protected during backup operations.
If selected, data will be presented in terms of media size, which is the amount of data written to the media; this includes backup, encrypted, compressed, and deduplicated data if applicable.
Data Size Chart
Charts data size, by application type, with a split between full, and incremental or other, data protection operations.
Job Activity Chart
Charts all completed, and all failed or killed jobs, also by application type, and can be used to compare the success rate of a given application type or client to other application types or clients. Click a section of a bar to see a Data Protection Detail Report with a listing of individual data protection operations. In the Data Protection Detail Report, you can double-click any entry to access the Job Detail screen, which provides more space for Failure Reason, Attempt and Copy information to be displayed.
Job Activity Detail
Displays, in tabular form, the number of data protection jobs that were attempted for each client, grouped by application type, and their completion, failed, and killed rates. This will help you determine if data protection jobs for a particular application type have a lower success rate than other application types, and if a particular client has a lower success rate than the other clients within that given application type. Click any number (except "0") in the table to see a Data Protection Detail Report with a listing of individual data protection operations. In the Data Protection Detail Report, you can double-click any entry to access the Job Detail screen, which provides more space for Failure Reason, Attempt and Copy information to be displayed.
Note that the graphs and charts for Quick Recovery Agent differ slightly from those of other agents. These differences are due to the first Incremental volume update not being considered as full in the back up model and data protection only through Incremental volume updates. Hence, the Data Size Chart displays only Incremental or other; in Data size, only the light blue bar graph displays; and in Data Size Detail, the Full Data Size displays with 0 MB.
