Detect the devices for the MediaAgent whose Master Drive Pool you wish to
configure, as described in
Detect Devices.
All the devices attached to the selected
MediaAgent are displayed in
the Library and Drive Configuration window.
Configure the library to which the master drive pool you want to
configure is attached.
In the Library and Drive Configuration window, right-click the
master drive pool that
you want to configure, and then click Configure.
A prompt appears, asking if you are sure that you want to configure the
master drive pool.
Click Yes to continue with the configuration.
A prompt appears, asking if you want to configure all of the drive pools within the
master drive
pool. If you want to configure the drive pools individually, click No.
Otherwise, click Yes.
A prompt appears, asking if you want to configure all of the drives within the
master drive
pool. If you want to configure the drives individually, click No.
Otherwise, click Yes.
The configuration status of the master drive pool changes to configured.
You can modify the name of the master drive pool after it is
configured.

Configure the Master Drive Pool to which the drive pool that you want to
configure is attached. For more information, see
Configuring a Master Drive Pool.
In the Library and Drive Configuration window, right-click the drive pool that
you want to configure, and then click Configure.
A prompt appears, asking if you are sure that you want to configure the drive pool.
Click Yes to continue with the configuration.
A prompt appears, asking if you want to configure all of the drives within the drive
pool. If you want to configure the drives individually, click No.
Otherwise, click Yes.
The configuration status of the drive pool changes to configured.
You can modify the name of the drive pool after it is
configured.
All the devices attached to the selected MediaAgent is displayed in the
Library and Drive Configuration window
Locate the drive that you want to configure. If the drive was never configured, its
identifier ends in a # sign (i.e., Drive#). If the drive was configured and then
deconfigured, the drive name is retained (e.g., Drive2). If you want to modify drive
properties, right-click the drive and select Properties.
From the Library and Drive Configuration window, right-click the drive that you
want to configure, and then click Configure.
A prompt appears, asking if you are sure that you want to configure the drive. Click Yes
to continue with the configuration.
If you have not already performed an exhaustive detection, or if your
exhaustive detection did not detect the drive, the
Device Configuration dialog box is displayed.
If you choose the Do Exhaustive Detection Now option, perform the
following:
Right-click the drive pool that you want to deconfigure, and then click Deconfigure.
A prompt appears, informing you that drives must be deconfigured before their drive pool
and asking if you want to deconfigure the constituent drives. Click Yes
to deconfigure.
The configuration status of the drive pool and its drives changes to not
configured.
Deconfigure the drive pools associated with the master drive pool that you
want to deconfigure. For more information see,
Deconfiguring Drive Pools.
Right-click the master drive pool that you want to deconfigure, and then click Deconfigure.
A prompt appears, informing you that drives must be deconfigured before their drive pool
and asking if you want to deconfigure the constituent drives. Click Yes
to deconfigure.
The configuration status of the master drive pool, its drive pools
and their drives changes to not
configured.
