Application Types

Overview

Custom application types can be defined to extend the ability of the QR Agent to identify, define, and create snapshots of user-defined applications using custom command-line scripts to quiesce and unquiesce applications. These are referenced by a Snapshot Volume Unit, defining its contents, and thus the contents of each of the associated Agents' subclients.

After creating an application type, use the Create/Edit a Snapshot Volume Unit (SVU) procedure to associate the application type with a Snapshot Volume Unit. The SVU will then use the scripts defined in the application type automatically, whenever it is incorporated into a workflow. Note that the aforementioned procedure can also be used to change or remove the association.
