From the CommCell Browser, right-click the iDataAgent icon for the Exchange 2007 Database that you want to configure for CCR backups, and then click Properties.
From the General tab of the agent Properties dialog box, select the options to Use VSS and Backup from replica.
If appropriate for your environment, you can select the option to Backup on active node if passive node is unavailable.
This option must be selected if you intend to use backups from the active node
to perform a CCR seeding operation of data to the passive node.
Click OK.
Once the CCR options have been configured, subsequent backups for the agent will use VSS to perform a Shadow Copy backup of the replica database on the passive node of a CCR cluster.
From the CommCell Browser, initiate a backup operation on the subclient for
which you want to enable consistency check throttling.
From the Backup Options
dialog box, click Advanced. The Advanced Backup Options dialog
box is displayed.
From the
Advanced Backup Options (Data) tab of the Advanced Backup Options
dialog box, select the Perform Consistency Check option.
To perform a consistency check after a certain number of I/O operations have
completed, select the Throttle check for 1 second option and enter the
number of I/O operations to complete before the throttle check is performed.
Click OK.
Once the Throttling Parameter option has been configured, subsequent VSS enabled backups for the iDataAgent will provide periodic pause points in the consistency check process.
