The FPolicy stubs show the same size as that of the original file. How can I
set stubs to have sparse attributes?
The stubs of the archived data shows the original file size when viewed in
Windows Explorer. To set sparse attributes, create
GXHSM_FPOLICY_CREATESPARSE
key and set its value as Y. Follow the steps given below to create this key:
From the CommCell Console, navigate to Client Computers | <Client>.
Right-click File Archiver.
Select Properties.
Select the Registry Key Settings tab.
Click Add.
In the Name box enter
WinFSDataMigrator.
In the Location box enter
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CommVault Systems\Galaxy\Instance<xxx>\.
What happens to stubs deleted using Erase Data by Browsing option?
If stubs are deleted using Erase data by browsing option, the subsequent
backups will not prune the stubs from the disk. The stubs would still be
available in the disk. However, you cannot perform a recall or a restore
operation on these stubs.
Can I perform stub recalls or Stub Pruning using File Share Archiver Client?
Yes. You can perform stub recalls or stub pruning on NetApp file server using File Share
Archiver Client provided Fpolicy is disabled on the file server.
