How can I see the file attributes after running a restore job?
Run the GXHSMUtility from the command line to validate the attributes of the
recalled files or stub files by using the -vr command line option.
Recalled files should not have off-line, Reparse-Point or Sparse attributes set. The validation logic will display any
file that is found to have only one or two of the stub attributes. Incorrect
file attributes are set when an AntiVirus program interferes with or
triggers a recall. Quota management drivers and other file filter drivers
can also interrupt the normal recall process.
The (-a) option, displays the three attribute settings for files
found with incorrect attributes.
The (-z) option, limits the result to display files with
incorrect stub attributes, and files containing zeros only.
How do I recall stubs that reside on the PolyServe File System?
Use the following steps to recall stubs from the PolyServe cluster:
Make sure that the Archiver Agent is installed on the physical nodes
of Polyserve cluster.
Make sure that the Use Classic File Scan option is enabled in the
backupset as described in
Setting up the Backupset.
Make sure that the Use VSS option is not selected from the subclient
used to perform the PolyServe cluster backup as described in
Setting up the
Subclient.
What happens to stubs deleted using Erase Data by Browsing option?
If stubs are deleted using Erase data by browsing option, the subsequent
backups will not prune the stubs from the disk. The stubs would still be
available in the disk. However, you cannot perform a recall or a restore
operation on these stubs.
How can I prevent an executable from triggering Stub Recoveries for files?
In order to prevent an executable from triggering stub recoveries for
files associated with a particular application, use the
NoRecallPrivileges key.
From the CommCell Console, navigate to Client Computers | <Client>.
