bullx B515 Compute Blades

Chassis_B510

The bullx B515 (I3 GPU) provides the server motherboard functionality based on dual SandyBridge-EN processors from Intel® and ensure maximum performance/watt for datacenter infrastructures and highly dense deployments.

Each processor interconnects with the other processors through the Intel Quick Path Interconnect (QPI) feature.

The blade system can host up to nine B515U blades distributed in two rows, four on the top row and five on the bottom row. All the blades are inserted from the front of the blade system and plugged into the Midplane.
Each blade interconnects with the other blades through an embedded ConnectX FDR component and the FDR Switch Module.

The bullx blade chassis can host indifferently 18 single-width compute blades (B500 model), 9 double-width accelerator blades (B505 model) or 9 Twin 2-Socket boards double-width Compute server blades (B510 model) - or any combination of those three types of blades.

The blades present the following features:

  • 2 high-frequency Intel® Xeon® E5-2400 family processors

Intel® Xeon® E5-2400 processors or SandyBridge

  • 1 QPI links
  • Six DDR3 DIMM slots

Up to 6 DDR3 dimm at 1600MHz

  • 2 new-generation NVIDIA® K20/K20X or INTEL® Xeon Phi coprocessor 5110P
  • 1 InfiniBand (QDR link - ConnectX-2 or FDR link - ConnectX-3)
  • 1Gb dual port Ethernet controller for the links to CMM and ESM
  • 1 Integrated Baseboard Management Controller (BMC)
  • 1 SATA disk (2.5", 500 GB) or 1 SSD drive (2.5"- 64, 128, 256 GB)
