Overview

QSnap is never upgraded by itself; it is upgraded automatically when you upgrade the iDataAgent you are using with it. This applies to Windows and Unix platforms in clustered and non-clustered environments. Consider the information on this page when you are upgrading an iDataAgent that uses QSnap.

Before You Begin

  • When QSnap is upgraded with any associated iDataAgent, the system requires rebooting near the end of the upgrade process. See Reboot or Log Off Requirements.
  • Note the following if you are doing a remote upgrade of systems that have Windows File System and QSnap installed:

Because QSnap is being upgraded, users in the remote locations must reboot after the Upgrade Summary screen appears. In addition, the remote users must then log on locally to their machines (with the same account used in the remote upgrade) before the upgrade can be completed.

Post-Upgrade Considerations

General

  • Install post-release updates or Service Packs that may have been released after the release of the software. If you are installing a Service Pack, verify and ensure that it is the same version as the one installed in the CommServe Server. Alternatively, you can enable Automatic Updates for quick and easy installation of updates in the CommCell component.
