Change the Data Path of a Schedule from a Schedule Policy

To
change the data path of a Storage Policy Copy:
- Right click a storage policy copy for which you want to change the data
path , click All Tasks and click Change Data Path.
- The Change Data Path dialog box is displayed.
- For magnetic media, select the appropriate Library and the
MediaAgent where you want to migrate the media.
- For tape and optical media, select the appropriate Library,
Master Drive Pool, Drive Pool, and Scratch Pool where you want to
migrate the media.
- Click OK to change the data path.

To perform
a magnetic library migration from one MediaAgent to another MediaAgent:
- Right-click the magnetic library that you want to migrate to another MediaAgent
and click Migrate Magnetic Library.
- A message is displayed indicating that this operation migrates the magnetic
library to another MediaAgent. Click OK.
- The
Select
MediaAgent dialog box is displayed. This dialog box displays the current
MediaAgent that the magnetic library is associated with and allows you to select
a MediaAgent to migrate to. From the drop-down list, select the MediaAgent you
want to migrate to and click OK.
- The magnetic library will now be associated with the selected MediaAgent.
To view the magnetic library properties to verify successful migration, right
click on the magnetic library where you want to view the properties, and click
Properties.
The MediaAgent is displayed on the General tab.
- Make sure that the mount path associated with the magnetic library, points
to valid path. (See
Add or Modify Mount
Paths for step-by-step instructions.)
Use the following procedure to change the data path for a backup operation.
Before You Begin
- Ensure that the MediaAgent, library, and drive pool you wish to select
is online and accessible.

To backup data using a
Specific MediaAgent, Library or Drive Pool:
- select one of the following:
- To backup a subclient, right-click the subclient to want to backup and
click Backup.
- To backup a user-defined backup set, right-click the backup set you
want to backup, click All Tasks, and click Backup All Subclients.
- To backup the default backup set, right-click the agent or instance
node, click All Tasks, and click Backup Default Backup Set.
- If you chose a level higher than subclient (i.e., backup set, etc.), you
are prompted to confirm that you want to back up all the subclients below that
level/node. Click Yes.
- From the Backup Options
dialog box, select the appropriate options.
- Click the Advanced button to open the Advanced Backup Options
dialog box. Select the desired options.
- From the
Advanced Backup Options (Data Path) tab, select the MediaAgent, Library or Drive Pool that you wish to perform the
backup.

for this job/job schedule only. |
- Optionally, you can select additional backup options in the Advanced
Backup Options dialog box.
- Click OK.
- From the Job Initiation area, select Run Immediately
and then click OK. When the backup has completed, Job Controller displays
Completed.
Use the following procedure to change the data path for a backup operation.

To backup data using a
Specific MediaAgent, Library or Drive Pool:
- select one of the following:
- To backup a subclient, right-click the subclient to want to backup and
click Backup.
- To backup a user-defined backup set, right-click the backup set you
want to backup, click All Tasks, and click Backup All Subclients.
- To backup the default backup set, right-click the agent or instance
node, click All Tasks, and click Backup Default Backup Set.

level/node. Click Yes.
- From the Backup Options
dialog box, select the appropriate options.
- Select Schedule and click OK to continue.
- From the Schedule Details dialog box,
select Job Summary tab and Job Options tab within. Click Advanced to open the Advanced Backup Options dialog box.
- From the
Advanced Backup Options (Data Path) tab, select the MediaAgent, Library
or Drive Pool that you wish to perform the backup.

- Click OK.
- Click OK to save your changes. Your backup operation will execute
according to the specified schedule.

Before You Begin
- Review Schedule Policy.

Schedules policies cannot be edited by multiple users simultaneously. If a
user attempts to edit a schedule policy that is currently being viewed by
another user, a warning message will display indicating that the property sheet
is currently being edited, and therefore, locked. Users will only have the
option to view the schedule policy without making any changes to it.
To modify the
data path of a schedule in the schedule policy:
- From the CommCell Browser, select the Schedule Policies node, right-click
the schedule policy, and then click Properties.
- From the
General tab of the
Schedule Policy Details dialog box, select a schedule from the schedules pane and click Edit.
- From the Schedule Details dialog box,
select Job Summary tab and Job Options tab within. Click Advanced to open the Advanced Backup Options dialog box.
- From the
Advanced Backup Options (Data Path) tab, change the data path by
selecting the desired MediaAgent, Library or Drive Pool.

Ensure that MediaAgent, library, or Drive Pool specified is available
in all the storage policies associated with the schedule. |
- Click OK.
- Click OK to save your changes. Your backup operation will execute
according to the specified schedule.
