Overview

Installing CommServe with an existing database is a one-step procedure to rebuild the CommServe (in disaster recovery scenarios). As the CommServe can be installed with a database of user choice, this eliminates the steps involved in restoring the database in rebuilding the CommServe. This procedure can also be used to upgrade the existing CommServe with a fresh install.

During the CommServe installation, the installer provides option either to create a new database, or to use the CommServe database from an earlier installation. The existing CommServe database must upgraded to the current release using Database Upgrade tool, and made available to the installer as a database dump.
