Install the CommServe and Windows File System iDataAgent on the same Virtual Server

Before You Begin

To install the CommServe and Windows File System iDataAgent on the same cluster virtual server:

1. Install the CommServe on the virtual server from the active node. Note that this installation will use Instance001. For installation procedures, see Install the CommServe - Clustered Environment - Virtual Server.
2. Install the Windows File System iDataAgent on the physical computer that is the active node for the cluster virtual server where you installed the CommServe in Step 1. Note that this installation will automatically create Instance002. For installation procedures, see Install the Microsoft Windows File System iDataAgent.
3. To allow Multi Instancing, configure the bAllowMultiInstances registry key on the same physical computer which is the active node for the cluster.
4. Install the Windows File System iDataAgent on the virtual server from the active node. For installation procedures, see Install the Microsoft Windows File System iDataAgent - Clustered Environment - Virtual Server. Note the following:
   • In the Install Instance Selection screen, specify Instance002, where the Windows File System iDataAgent was already installed for the physical computer.
   • In the Communication Interface Name screen, specify a different Client Name and Interface Name from those already specified during the CommServe installation on the virtual server.
