Before You Begin
- Review the general recovery requirements from
What You Need to Know Before Performing a Recovery and any agent-specific recovery requirements from
Recovery
Considerations for This Agent prior to performing any recovery.
- This procedure can be used to recover only SharePoint data which have been configured to display stub icons.
-
In the SharePoint User Interface, you can recover items only if
Yes appears under the Archive column next to the item. If the
Archive column is not visible after archiving, you may need to
manually refresh the Browser, select View "All Documents" or "All Pictures".
-
If the Recall Archived Data menu is not visible in the SharePoint
User Interface, you may need to manually refresh the Browser or it may be because multiple versions of
SharePoint Servers co-exist on the
same client. See Support when SharePoint 2003
and 2007 Servers Co-exist for more information.
-
Unless you have Add/Update permissions to the document,
you will not be able to recall archived documents.
-
Library columns CommVault Stub and Archived
created by SharePoint Archiver should not be changed by the user.
- Items recovered from a version-enabled library are recovered to a new
version.
Required Capability: None.
To
recover data from the SharePoint Server User Interface:
- Log in to your SharePoint site.
- In the SharePoint Server User Interface, browse to the Library and
select the archived SharePoint item which has Yes in the Archive
column.
- Expand the Item Edit menu and click Recall Archived Data.
- The data that is available for recovery is displayed. Select
one or more versions by selecting a checkbox in the Recall column and click Recall Selected Versions to continue.
|
- If the document is from a version-enabled library,
more than one version may be available for recovery. Otherwise, if the
document is from a non version-enabled library, only one version will be
available.
- If an error occurs instead of viewing available versions, see
Troubleshoot.
|
- A Persistent Recovery job will be initiated on CommServe and a popup
message "[Filename] Recall completed successfully.OK" is displayed when
recovery has completed. Click OK to return to the Document Library
page. To hide this dialog box, see
Hide "Recall Completed Successfully" Dialog Box.
After the recovery has completed, you can click the
data to view its contents.
|
-
For successful archiving and recovery, the user performing the operation
must have write permissions to the
SPDAStubDatabase.db file that resides in the
Job_Results folder. Otherwise, you may
receive the error Failed to update database with new
version number.
-
The default timeout value for recalling data is five minutes. If a timeout
error occurs, the timeout value
can be increased by setting the registry key value
nRecallTimeout.
