My scheduled task or Alert did not reach the intended recipient

The Senders Email Address, Mail Server, or SMTP port was not configured properly

To configure these parameters:

  1. From the CommNet Browser, right-click the CommNet Server, and then click Properties.
  2. From the CommNet Properties dialog box, type a new Senders Email Address, Mail Server, or SMTP Port.
  3. Click OK.

My scheduled task failed to run

The particular scheduled task is disabled

To enable the scheduled task:

  1. From the CommNet tree, right-click the Schedules node, click either All Schedules or My Schedules, select a schedule from the All Schedules or My Schedules window, and then click Modify.
  2. From the Task step of the Modify Schedule Wizard, select the Enabled box.
  3. Click Finish.

The Scheduler Activity is disabled

Enable the Scheduler Activity by following the procedure Enable or Disable All Scheduled Tasks

The scheduled job may have been deleted from Windows Task Scheduler by accident

Check the Windows Scheduled Tasks. If the scheduled task is not displayed there, stop and start the CommNet Server Service as described in Stop CommNet Server Services and Start CommNet Server Services. Once services are started again, the scheduled task will be displayed in the Windows Scheduled Tasks dialog box.

My scheduled task sent via e-mail generates in non-English

The regional language setting on the server can cause the emailed tasks to be sent in a different language.

As scheduled tasks generate using the regional language established for the server, the language setting can be changed through the following procedure: click Start, click Control Panel, click Regional and Language Options, click the Advanced Tab, and select a language to match the language version of the non-Unicode programs you want to use.


Schedule triggers at incorrect time after time zone change on CommNet server

After changing the time zone on the CommNet server, established schedules on the server could trigger at the incorrect time.

Make sure to restart the CommNet server services after the change so that the new time zone correctly applies to established schedules.
