Examine Windows Application Event Log Error Message: Primary index is Corrupt. The Database Must be Defragmented or the Table Deleted |
How can I find the reason for restore failure with Offline Mining Tool?
You can view the following log files:
Unable to open Exchange Database.
Where do I check for the reason behind restore failure?
It is good practice to examine the Windows Application Event Log and look for Exchange environmental or configuration issues that may have caused the job to fail.
The Exchange Offline Mining Tool does not support folder level or mailbox level restore. In order to restore more than one message it is recommended to select a range of messages and restoring them in a PST file. See, Restoring Multiple Messages for more details.
You may get the above mentioned error message while registering database for Exchange Server 2013.
To resolve this issue run the following defragmentation command:
Eseutil /d [edb file path]
Example: Eseutil /d “E:\Mailbox\MDB01\MDB01.edb”
