For most agents that support instances, an instance (referred to as a partition in the Lotus Domino iDataAgents):
The Oracle RAC instance deviates somewhat from this paradigm. (See Overview - Oracle RAC iDataAgent and Advanced Configuration - Oracle RAC iDataAgent for more information.)
During agent installation (where relevant), some agents establish a default configuration. This default configuration is, in most cases, appropriate to ensure data protection and management of data or volumes on the client computer and should not require any changes. However, you can change this configuration to better suit your needs. Similarly, other agents may require some additional configuration steps after the installation is completed.
