Usage

Overview

All job summary reports (either data protection, data recovery, or administration operations), are available from the Job Summary Report Selection dialog box.

By default, failed files and failed folders are displayed in the reports in red. If you want to change the colors of these values, you can set the failedFilesSameColor and failedFoldersSameColor registry keys, respectively. For more information on these registry keys, see Registry Keys. Note that jobs that have failed will also display an Error Code, which, if the report is displayed in HTML format, will link to troubleshooting article(s) available from the Customer Support website. From this report filter, reports can be created to display:

• All Jobs (Data Protection, Data Recovery, and Administrative Jobs)
• Data Protection Jobs
• Data Recovery Jobs
• Administrative Jobs

The length of time job history data is retained for the Data Protection jobs, Data Recovery jobs, and Administrative job summary reports is determined by the defined aging rules. For more information on job history aging, see Job History Data.

All Jobs

If All Jobs is selected from the Job Summary Report Selection, all data protection, data recovery, and administrative jobs will be included in the report.

Data Protection Jobs

The following types of data protection job summary reports can be created from the Job Summary Report Selection dialog box based on the selected filter criteria:

• Calendar Backup Job Summary
• Backup Job Summary
• Calendar Archive/Compliance Archive Job Summary
• Archive/Compliance Archive Job Summary
• QR Volume Creation Job Summary
• ContinuousDataReplicator Job Summary
• Online Content Indexing Job Summary
• SRM Data Collection Job Summary

Data Recovery Jobs

The following types of data recovery job summary reports can be created from the Job Summary Report Selection dialog box based on the selected filter criteria:

• Restore Job Summary
• Recovery/Retrieve Job Summary
• QR Volume Recovery Job Summary
• CDR Recovery Job Summary
• Stub Recall Job Summary
• Search Restore Job Summary

Job Errors

If a job has not completed successfully, you can view information about the error(s) encountered by that job by clicking on the job's error code. See Job Errors in Job Controller for more information.

Usage

This report is useful if you require:

• To view all data protection, data recovery, and administration jobs during a specified time period.
• To generate Job Summary reports where the data reflects either the CommServe time zone or the time zone of each Client in the CommCell. The Administrative Job Summary reports will only display the CommServe time zone.
• To view the failure reason and associated events for all data protection, data recovery, and administrative jobs.
